A Healthier Me
I’ve decided to make a few changes in my life and I wanted to share the journey with you. Please focus on the word SHARE, I’m not telling you or writing this to make you feel any sort of way. The only thing I can hope from this is that you know you’re not alone in anything, there is always someone who is probably going through the same struggles as you.
In my case im struggling to be the best version of me, which I know is a pretty common struggle. Let’s face it, the world is much different than it was 20 years ago. Social Media has made that VERY apparent. Now, I don’t want to make this a blog about how much I hate social media and how much it’s ruined my life because that is a whole separate topic I can get into, it’s also given me a great deal of happiness so, I can’t hate on it too much. Although, I think social media is a big factor as to why I am making some changes, so it can’t be all that bad.
So, let’s get into it before I lose your attention span.
I'm making a few changes to my health and mind.
I would like to say I am a pretty decently healthy person. But then I really think about it and then I'm like welllllll…. maybe not. I say I don’t drink soda but then turn around and have 3 glasses of wine? I don’t think that’s how it works haha. I’ve always felt like if I was in better shape, life would be better for me, everything would just be IMPROVED. While I'm sure that’s true in a few different aspects, I think even if I am in shape I’ll still be the same me, weird, sarcastic and a bit lazy. I can change my body, but I need to change my mind too otherwise I might as well just keep doing what I am doing now.
Last weekend I went to a conference in Las Vegas Called GTC, now this conference was for Arbonne, which if you don’t know what they are I will get into that in another post. But, basically, they are a company I will be working with through this change in my life. They have amazing products that are all of course Vegan, Gluten Free and free of Animal Cruelty.
Anyways, at this conference, they had a motivational speaker, Mel Robbins (no, she’s not related to Tony Robbins) she was amazing and relatable in every way. I know there was about 20, 000 people in the audience but I felt like she was talking directly to me, weird I know. Everything she was saying I was like yesss, girl me too! I found her to be so inspiring and everything she said really resonated with me. I was legit sitting on the edge of my seat making sure I didn’t miss a beat of this presentation. You can find a lot of her talks on YouTube and she has a book called the “5 Second Rule.” I know I was there for this presentation and I know how the 5-second rule works, but I am so excited to read her book! I’ve talked about the 5-second rule on my Instagram already but if you don’t follow me then here’s the scoop:
The 5 Second Rule: Do you have something important you need to be doing? Say making a phone call to someone, sending a proposal email, or even just getting up the courage to talk to someone?
Count down, 5,4,3,2,1! DO IT
Don’t think after one just dial the number, hit send or talk to that girl over there. As Nike says “JUST DO IT” don’t give yourself time to fill your head with excuses and negative thoughts.
I DO THIS ALL THE TIME, I sit and brew in my lack of self-confidence to do stuff I really want to do. I fill my head with excuses and ideas of me not being good enough. WELL guess what guys, we are good enough. We can do anything we want! (except anything bad, I will not condone that! Hah)
Ever since getting home I have 5,4,3,2,1, myself into the gym and it put a bit more of a fire under my buns to get my life going in the direction I want it to be. To say the least, it’s helped me a lot so far. So, if you’ve made it this far into my blog, then I suggest you practice doing this technique right away! See what you can accomplish in as little as 5 Seconds!
I am hoping that using this 5 Second rule can help me make the changes I need to gain my self-confidence back and let me do things I have been too scared to do. They may not be a right away change but any little change helps in the overall long run of things.
So, with all that being said, I am going to give myself a happier and healthier 2018. Kind of like we all said in January, but here I am a few months later trying to revive my resolution, it’s never too late!
I also just want every one of my readers to know that we all go through something and just because Instagram looks all happy and like people have a perfect life, doesn’t mean they have their own personal struggles.
WE ALL go through life with one headache after another! ;P
I am really excited to start my new healthier path and I am sure there will be more post like this updating you on my struggles, cuz Jesus take the wheel, I know there will be some!
Also, thanks for reading this far<3
